Skechers running shoes recommendations

It seems like it’s a very affordable product, and everyone is acclaimed, but I haven’t used it since my fourth year of elementary school…

Max Road 5 is the light running shoe I like the most. I ran over 1000 miles on the first leg and ordered a new one again. The outsole will certainly wear out, but it can still be used enough. Razor Excess is also a great shoe. It does not support running like super shoes, but it is perfect for keeping your feet strong on the day of tempo.

Max Road 5 was the best shoe for me who liked soft and repulsive shoes. It is ideal with a carbon H plate, and I loved it as a daily use shoe for a while. However, I discontinued the use, probably due to my squamous legs, which caused the inner part of the foot to be covered. Still great shoes!

Never tried, but have heard great things about their Hyperburst running shoes.

We recommend Razor3 +, but please note that all sizes are made smaller. I had to buy one size larger because it is a foot of 2E width.

The biggest advantage to me is that it is lightweight and there is no stability element that prevents running.

Razor Excess was the first shoe for me, but I didn’t feel particularly great. Running over 8 km always blisters my thumb, but this may cause me to sweat a lot with this shoe. $60 was worth the purchase, but I don’t want to pay any more.

Lightweight and good shoes, but the quality is enough. Overall hardened locker shape. 3 Model ownership.

Max Road 5: Unexpectedly hard and reactive. The hardness gradient of the foam is characteristic: the heel part is very hard, but the front foot is soft (touch feeling). However, the H plate makes the front foot even harder. The slope of the heel is sharp and hard, and the feel is transmitted when landing. The outsole actually has a high grip force, but the wear is fast and the stone is easily sandwiched! I want to like it, but it is not yet that stage (60 km running).

Ride 9: It feels hard and responsive. The locker is also much smoother than Max Road. The widest of the three legs! The disadvantage is that the overlay of the shoe lace hole has already begun to peel off (poor adhesion?). It is not bad for daily training, but the quality is very poor.

Razor 3 +: This shoe is very narrow and too narrow for most people. The hyperburst form is actually soft and responsive (harder than Rebel v2). No insole, no arch support! It’s strange that Max Road and Ride have enough arch support.

Sketchers’ Goran 4 is still one of my favorite shoes. I’m looking for a successor model. I have heard that Goran 7 Plus is the second savior.

I also hear that Max Road 5 has a good reputation. I am thinking about purchasing one foot.

Love the max cushion

Hey — I was in the same boat a year ago, never used Skechers running-shoes beyond childhood. Tried a few recently and have been pretty impressed. Their newer tech (Hyperburst foam, good midsole designs) seems legit.

One thing: some models run narrow, so if you have wider feet maybe size up or try a “wide fit” version.

Here are a few Skechers models I’ve heard good things about (and some I’ve tried):

GO Run Ride 11 — a solid daily trainer, nice cushioning, feels premium for what you pay.

Max Cushioning Elite 2.0 — super comfy, very cushioned, good if you want something soft for long runs or recovery.

GoRun Elevate — lighter, a bit more responsive, good if you do mixed stuff (runs, gym, maybe some tempo).

If you can try them in person or buy somewhere with a good return policy, that’d help. Fit and comfort vary a lot between Skechers models.

What I like about Skechers running line:

The cushioning is very forgiving, especially on roads/concrete. Good if you’re concerned about knees or joint fatigue.

They seem to do tech upgrades every so often (new foams, outsole designs) so you get more bang for your £.

They are often cheaper in sales or outlet sections compared to “premium” running brands, so that “budget deal” vibe is real.

What to be cautious of:

Durability isn’t always top-tier. The outsole or upper materials on some models show wear more quickly.

As mentioned, fit can be inconsistent. Some models narrow, some wider.

If I were you, looking for a good Skechers pair, these features would be ones I check:

Cushioning type / foam — if they use something like Hyperburst or a similar responsive foam, that’s a plus.

Drop & stack height — how much heel-toe drop do you like? If you prefer flatter, more natural feel, some Skechers are lower drop.

Outsole grip / tread — decent grip helps especially when you run in wet or uneven ground.

Upper comfort & breathability — mesh or knit uppers help, maybe reinforced toes or midfoot if you push off or run over rough surfaces.

Try them out for a shorter run first, see how your ankles/knees feel.
